Confidence LED™ 2×4

2′ × 4′ UV-C air purifying LED ceiling troffer

The standard drop-ceiling replacement. Our 2×4 UV-C troffer slides into an existing grid slot — no construction, no ductwork — and pairs LED downlighting with a sealed 275 nm UV-C air disinfection chamber that runs while the room is in use.

Questions

Confidence LED™ 2×4 FAQs.

Will the 2×4 UV-C troffer fit my existing ceiling?

If your ceiling already uses standard 2′×4′ lay-in troffers, the fixture drops into the same grid opening. No grid modification, ducting, or construction is required — most rooms are swapped in minutes by an electrician.

How many 2×4 fixtures does a classroom need?

We size fixtures per room, starting at roughly one fixture per 100 sq ft and then adjusting for occupancy density and ceiling height. A typical 900 sq ft classroom lands in the range where existing troffer positions are already close to correct.

Is UV-C safe with people in the room?

Yes. The UV-C LEDs sit inside a sealed internal chamber, so germicidal light never reaches skin or eyes. Only clean air leaves the fixture, which is why the system can run continuously while a room is occupied — unlike UV robots that require an empty room.

Does UV-C kill COVID-19 and other airborne viruses?

UV-C in the 275 nm germicidal range damages the RNA and DNA of airborne pathogens — including coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV-2, along with bacteria, mold, and fungal spores — so they can no longer replicate or cause infection as air passes through the chamber.

How is this different from a HEPA air purifier?

HEPA traps particles in a filter that must be changed and can re-release captured organisms during service. UV-C inactivates pathogens as air passes through, and because the system is built into the ceiling light there is no floor unit, no ductwork, and no filter replacement cycle.
